Popular cryptocurrency exchange, Coinme has announced availability for USDC on Stellar network. This would allow Americans to cash in and out of USDC token with much lower fees than comparable blockchains like Ethereum.
Why use USDC on Stellar rather than Ethereum? Well, we have two solid reasons. First is speed. Transfers on Stellar are near instantaneous. Second is cheap transaction cost. Sending USDC on Ethereum would cost you anywhere between $3-$20, depending on gas usage, while on Stellar, it would cost you $0.00001 to send it anywhere.
There are myriad Coinme locations inside US that allow users to buy and sell USDC. With greater access and lower fees, Stellar is empowering more people to participate in the digital economy. This is just the beginning.
USDC supply is backed by equal amount of dollars with market capitalization of more than $33B at time of writing of this article.
